Jane M. Carlton is Silver Professor of Biology & Genomics, and Director of Genomic Sequencing at the Center for Genomics & Systems Biology, New York University. Her research involves using comparative genomics to interrogate the biology and evolution of the malaria parasite, and common zoonotic and sexually transmitted trichomonads.
For the past 15 years she has worked with scientists in India as Director of an International Center of Excellence in Malaria Research funded by the NIH. She has >120 research articles, been profiled by CNN, BBC, and The Economist, and received awards from the American Society for Parasitologists and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
